Kelvin Fletcher: Strictly star’s partner Oti Mabuse breaks silence on argument rumours

Oti Mabuse, 29, has broken her silence about speculation claiming she and her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kelvin Fletcher, 35, have been rowing. The duo sparked rumours when they were pictured looking unhappy after their appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two on Wednesday.

Kelvin, who was dressed in a grey tracksuit, could be seen playing on his phone while his partner looked out of the window in the other direction.

However, Oti denied the claims as she took to Instagram to share a humorous clip of the former Emmerdale actor’s face superimposed onto a dancing chicken.

She added the caption: “How can I be furious at this face? Come on now.”

Oti’s response to the claims come after The Sun reported that the Strictly pro was concerned about Kelvin skipping his wedding anniversary with wife Liz Marsland.

A source told the publication that Oti was concerned her partner’s decision would spark Strictly “curse” rumours.

The so-called “curse” refers to celebrities and professional dancers starting romantic relationships after the show is finished.

The insider said: “All the celebrities were encouraged to be in London this week as that’s where the backing dancers are based.

“Oti knew it was Kelvin and Liz’s anniversary and was happy for him to go to Manchester, but he didn’t want to.

“He takes the show very seriously and didn’t want them to be behind the curve.”

They added: “However, Oti was worried his decision may be seen as a reflection on the state of his marriage and the rumour mill would start up.

“She hates the idea people could whisper about them being struck by the Strictly curse. She had a bit of a meltdown about it.” has contacted Kelvin and Oti’s representatives for comment.

Kelvin addressed the ”tough times” he’s had training this week in preparation for the Strictly semi-final.

Kelvin and Oti are dancing the Quickstep to The Lady Is A Tramp and a Paso Doble to The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.

Before his performance tonight, the soap star updated fans on his progress on Instagram.

He said: “Hey guys, just thought I’d send you a little message. I’ve just had physio, I look like I’ve had a big sleep.

“So yeah, it’s semi-finals night! I can’t quite believe it’s the semi-finals. Twelve weeks ago I did my first dance, I did the Samba, and it just feels so surreal to be here now in the semi-finals.

“Still can’t quite believe that I’m in the semi-finals, especially coming in the way I did. It’s been the most amazing, amazing experience of my life.

“And you know what – should it all end tonight, then I’ve just had an incredible time and I can’t thank you guys enough for keeping me in the competition for so long.”

The Strictly hopeful concluded: “It has been really, really tough. Mentally and pretty brutally phsyically. Dress rehearsal today went well and I cannot wait to dance tonight. I can’t wait! Quickstep and the Paso – two very different dances. But I just can’t wait for you to see them. So here goes!”
